The Currency Office has been formally established and today launches its official website at currency.gov.vin, where the banknotes and coins of the Network, and the arrangements for reporting counterfeit currency, will be published.

All news- Currency Office Announces First Series of Banknotes and Coins
Five banknotes and eight coins of the First Series will enter circulation between 5 October and 7 December 2026. Their denominations, dimensions, colours and security features are published from today.
- Currency Office Publishes Procedure for Reporting Counterfeit Currency
Anyone who receives a note or coin they believe to be counterfeit should retain it and report it to the Office by email. Fourteen counterfeit notes were detected during the transition period, a rate of 3.3 per million notes in circulation.
- Currency Office Publishes First Statistics on Currency in Circulation
At establishment, 4.19 million notes with a value of 61.2 million credits and 12.7 million coins with a value of 4.21 million credits were in circulation. The Office will publish circulation statistics quarterly.
About the Office
The Currency Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for the banknotes and coins of the Velocity Interoperability Network: their design, issue, distribution, withdrawal and replacement.
It maintains the register of currency in circulation, publishes the security features by which a genuine note is known, examines suspected counterfeits and exchanges damaged and withdrawn notes and coins at face value.
